Small Farms & Vegetable Conference

The Horticulture Committee of Austin County, in partnership with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County, will be hosting a Small Farms & Vegetable Conference with 5 CEUs on Friday, February 27th, at the American Legion Post #442 located at 1630 Meyer St, Sealy. Program registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the first presentation beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Information to be covered includes What is Growing on My Plant (Pathogens) by Lynda Duffy, local specialist & Bluebonnet Master Gardener, Pests and Diseases of Backyard Grapes by Daniel Hillin, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Viticulture Program Specialist, Common Insects in the Garden by Stephen Biles, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, IPM Specialist, Orchard Floor Management by Stephen Janak, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Program Specialist- Sustainable Fruit Project, and Laws & Regulations Update/Reading the Label by Dr. Don Renchie, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Agriculture &Environmental Specialist.

The program will cost $45.00 per person or $80.00 per couple and will include breakfast & lunch. Please RSVP to the Austin County Extension office or online at austin.agrilife.org to reserve your seat and ensure resource availability.
