Who is ready for a fundraising event that directly supports the educational efforts of the youth of Austin County? The Austin County 4-H Livestock Project Group (LPG) is hosting its 1st Annual “‘Que for the Kids” BBQ Cook-Off on May 3rd and 4th, 2024. Anyone will be able to find an interest at this fundraiser, with a variety of affairs being held that weekend at the Austin County Fairgrounds! ‘Que for the Kids is open to both adults and youth. The cook-off for adult teams will span across Friday and Saturday, and the kid’s competition will be held on Saturday only. Please see the flyer for additional information. Complete contest rules and regulations, liability and indemnity agreement, and registration forms required for all participants are available at: https://austin.agrilife.org/event/que-for-the-kids/.
In addition to the cook-off, there will be a full day of family-friendly activities being held at the Austin County Fairgrounds beginning at 9:00 a.m. and running until approximately 5:00 p.m., including a bake sale, car show, gun raffle, silent auction, 50/50 raffle and so much more. There will truly be something for everyone!
The Austin County Livestock Project Group is a 501C-3 non-profit that supports the youth of Austin County in many ways, including covering fees associated with Austin County 4-H’s participation in all livestock-based judging contests, skill-a-thons, and quiz bowl competitions as well as clinicians and door prizes for project species meetings, educational resources for livestock project training and training for project leaders or ambassadors. LPG also covers payment for all judges and prizes for the Austin County 4-H Progress Show and Swine Skill-A-Thon in August every year, which is open to not only 4-Her’s but any eligible showman in Austin County. To help offset costs and allow LPG to support more youth and their projects, please join us at the 1st Annual “‘Que for the Kids” BBQ Cook-Off! Your support of Austin County 4-H Livestock Project Group and the youth of Austin County is greatly appreciated!
