For registered Austin County 4-H members – the 2025 Austin County 4-H Food Show Contest to be held on Friday, October 17th at the AgriLife Extension Office with registration at 5:00 PM and the contest starting at 5:30 PM. Here are the details for this year:

• County registration (recipe as well) due ONLINE: Wednesday, October 8th

• District registration due on 4-H Online – October 20th – November 7th. Late registrations November 8th – 17th
• Theme: Food Truck Favorites
• The recipe entered must be used at all levels of competition (District and State)
• Age Divisions: Clover (2nd grade & under), JR (3-5th grade), INT (6th – 8th grade), SR (9th – 12th grade)
• Clover kids ARE allowed to enter this contest at the county level, but are NOT eligible to advance
• The top THREE members at the county level in each age division and category (Appetizer, Main Dish, Side Dish, and Healthy Dessert) are eligible to advance to District
• Maximum interview time is 12 minutes. To begin the interview, youth are allowed to present an oral presentation for a maximum of 5 minutes before judges will ask questions. SENIORS ONLY: Member will serve a single serving portion of their dish
• Following interview, members will showcase a skill (additional details attached in guidelines)

Some additional helpful information:

• Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors all advance to District competition. Only seniors are eligible to advance to State!
• There is NO cost for participation in the County Contest. We can host this contest and provide awards to our participants free of charge because of fundraisers like the hamburger stand!

All contestants who advance to the District Contest will register on 4-H Online. The District 11 4-H Food Show Contest will be held at the Friar Ag Center & Anne Friar Thomas Homemaking Building, in Cuero, TX on December 8th.
