Only Barrows will be permitted to show in the market class. Weights are 220-280 +/- 3 lbs. Exhibitors will be charged $5.00 per animal tagged. All Market Swine must be properly identified with an ear tag by Saturday, July 18, 2015. Family tagging will be allowed in 2015. This will be interpreted as immediate family living in the same household. Market Swine exhibitors may exhibit two (2) entries in this division and will be allowed no back up animal or be eligible to show in any other…

Back to School Health Fair

Every July since 2009 Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service partner with Texas Children’s Hospital Health Plan and The Department of State Health Services to provide a Back to School Health Fair.  Free vaccinations and screenings are available for children and adults and the children are usually able to leave with school supplies and a backpack for the upcoming year. The day is filled with door prizes, food and fun! Watch your local newspapers for announcements for each upcoming Health Fair.

Halter Heifers must be present at the progress show to be eligible to show at the Austin County Fair. Halter Heifers should be exhibited by their owners unless he/she is physically challenged and unable to do so. All Halter Heifers must be broke to lead and easy to handle. There will be a Mandatory Progress Evaluation and optional showmanship contest opened to 4-H and FFA exhibitors on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 8:00 a.m. at the Austin County Fairgrounds. Failure to attend the Mandatory Progress Show will forfeit your eligibility to show at the Austin County Fair. All tagged Market Lambs must be present at the Mandatory Progress Evaluation to be eligible to show at the Austin County Fair. Final Mandatory Weigh-In for Horse Projects

At this meeting, a soundness exam will be administered by a licensed veterinarian appointed by the Colt Project Committee. Each veterinarian will be assisted by a person that both veterinarians deem appropriate. Examination results must be acceptable for the horse to be exhibited and/or sold at the Fair.
